Updated: Lightning lights up the sky over Newark - your videos from last night's thunderstorm

Glimpses of lightning bolts have been captured on camera.

Thunderstorms were expected to make their way into Newark throughout the day yesterday, and when it eventually did, the cameras were at the ready.

This video was submitted by Rachael Allen, who captured this incredible video from her home in Newark.

This video (below) was captured by Coddington resident Wayne Keetley.

Lightning was also recorded from Caythorpe.

The video below was taken by Rachel Armitage.

Carly Hyland kept her camera rolling for nearly a minute as the thunderstorm hit Newark.

Her video can be seen below.

Helen Chapman, from Balderton, said it was her first attempt at photographing lightning.
