One part of the Advertiser area has seen a 200% increase in covid infection rates in the past week, with many reporting rates above the national average.

Case rates are shown per 100,000 people for the seven-day period ending November 17. This is calculated by dividing the seven-day total by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.

This makes it easier to compare cases across areas of different population size.

Most of Newark and Sherwood is within the most at-risk criteria for covid cases. (53240900)
