A group of motorists were racing between Cotgrave and Stragglethorpe last night
Police issued warnings to a group of motorists who appeared to be racing on a single-carriageway road last night.
Just before 11pm yesterday, Rushcliffe South Police were called to a report of around seven or eight vehicles appearing to be racing on Main Road, between Cotgrave and the Shepherds restaurant at Stragglethorpe.
Officers attended and spoke to a number of the drivers, some of which were issued with section 59 notices (Police Reform Act 2002) in relation to their manner of driving.
A spokesman said: "This simply means that if they are seen driving again and their manner of driving at that time, gives the officer cause for concern, then the vehicle can be seized from them.
"A fee would have to be paid for it to be returned in addition to any other motoring offences they have committed."
