MP for Newark Robert Jenrick appealed community’s support to a family fundraise to support former Newark Town Football Club player who is suffering from rare cancer

An MP for Newark appealed for the community’s support to the critical situation faced by an 18-year-old facing a rare form of cancer.

Robert Jenrick brought attention to the urgent and critical situation faced by Daniel Evans from Newark, who has been battling Primary Mediastinal B Cell Lymphoma since December 2022.

He urged the community through a Facebook post to support the fundraising campaign launched by the Evans family.

The GoFundMe page aims to finance the necessary drugs and treatment that could save Dan’s life. It can be accessed at https://shorturl.at/qruyD.

"Dan needs our collective support to access the life-saving medication that could be the key to his recovery,” said Mr Jenrick.

He added: “Let us come together as a community to rally behind Dan and his family during this challenging time.”

Over the past year, Dan has endured chemotherapy, radiotherapy, clinical trials and CAR T treatments, however, all have failed.

The combination of drugs, which have proved successful in trial – could treat him, but is not available on the NHS for Dan’s form of cancer so needs to be bought privately.
