Police remain at the scene of two deaths in Bingham

A neighbour described the atmosphere on the street where a man and a woman were found dead in a house as eerie.

Nottinghamshire Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of a 57-year-old man and 39-year-old woman following an incident in Porchester Road, Bingham, yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Detectives were called to the address just before 3.40pm where a man and woman, who are believed to be known to one another, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said: “It is completely out of the blue. It is really sad. This doesn’t happen around here.

"We woke up this morning and it is still eerie. There was police presence all night.

"This road was just full of police cars, and they kept coming, ambulances, crime investigators; it was what you would see on TV.

"You just don’t expect to actually see it in real life."

Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, who is leading the investigation, said that investigations to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident were ongoing.
