New Radio Newark breakfast show host named
Radio Newark’s weekday breakfast show has a new host.
Ian McGregor, of Fernwood, has taken over the show, which airs from 7am to 10am on weekdays.
Before settling in Newark Ian worked at stations all over the country, including for the BBC and Radio Kent.
He is now refreshing Newark’s mornings with Breakfast Bangers.
Ian said: “It’s a long time since I had to get up so early for a radio show, but I’m delighted to have been asked and well up for it. I’m passionate about local radio. It’s a voice for its community and vital information, including rush hour traffic news.
“It also plays great music and we’ll have lots of that on the Radio Newark Breakfast Show.”
After three years with the station he is looking forward to sharing his passion for radio with Newark residents.
He said:“I’m looking forward to connecting with people in the community with something interesting to say and to running the Radio Club at Barnby Road Academy where our studios are based.”
Previous hosts Phil Johnson and Victoria Atkin will continue to present on Saturdays, from 10am to 2pm.
