New community and voluntary service supporting Newark, Sherwood, Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe
A new era for communities has begun with the launch of the new community and voluntary service supporting Nottinghamshire districts.
The community and voluntary service sporting Newark, Sherwood, Rushcliffe, Broxtowe and Gedling have been established to strengthen, support and connect the network of voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations working across these districts.
The CVS will offer a range of services including capacity-building support and bespoke training for local groups; guidance on funding applications and governance; volunteer recruitment and coordination through a new digital platform; and advocacy and representation at local, regional and national levels.
Louise Casey, chief executive of Your CVS, said: “We’re thrilled to launch Your CVS and provide a fresh, united approach to supporting the voluntary and community sector across these four diverse and vibrant districts.
“We understand the unique challenges and opportunities facing each area, and we're here to listen, learn, and help local organisations and volunteers thrive.”
The creation of Your CVS represents a response to the growing need for sustainable support structures for the third sector, especially with the ongoing cost of living crisis and increasing demand on community services.
Louise added: “This is about being rooted in the heart of our communities.
“Your CVS is not just a service provider, we’re a partner, a connector and a passionate advocate for the people and organisations making a difference every day.”
