Coronavirus: New data shows which Newark and Sherwood towns and villages have had Covid-19 deaths

New statistics have been released showing a breakdown of where people in Newark and Sherwood who died with Covid-19 are from.

The breakdown from the Office for National Statitisics (ONS) shows confirmed deaths where coronavirus was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.

The deaths, which are listed under geographical statistical areas, occurred between March 1 and April 17, and were registered by April 18.

The ONS data shows that seven people from Newark died with Covid-19 during this time, four from Newark South East, two from Newark North and one from Newark South West.

In Balderton two people have died, and two people from Farndon, Fernwood and Fiskerton have also died.

Winthorpe, Coddington and Collingham recorded one death, as did Claypole and Caythorpe. Muskham, Sutton-on-Trent and Walesby also recorded one death.

Southwell registered three deaths, while in the same period Farnsfield had four deaths and Edwinstowe and Clipstone had ten deaths.

The ONS said that a small number of deaths had been reallocated between neighbouring areas to protect confidentiality.

The figures exclude deaths of non-residents and are based on February 2020 boundaries.
