New Greggs shop opens in Newark creating 16 new jobs for the town

A new Greggs shop opened in Newark this week, offering shoppers a chance to grab a bite to eat on-the-go.

The new shop on the Maltings Retail Park, open daily from 6am to 8:30pm, has already created sixteen new jobs for the area.

Customers will be pleased to know that all of their Greggs favourites will be on offer at the new store, including the ever-popular Sausage Roll, Steak Bake and a range of vegan, gluten-free and low calorie alternatives.

As well as the classics, freshly-made sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats will also be available alongside a selection of 100% Fairtrade hot drinks.

Greggs also offers deals throughout the day such as the breakfast combinations — breakfast roll or baguette and an orange juice or hot drink — served until 11am every day.

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop in Newark on Trent has brought 16 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”

A Greggs spokesperson said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats and savouries available for takeaway or Click + Collect.”

The retailer also has an exclusive delivery partnership with Just Eat as well as it's own Click + Collect system enabling customers to select a shop and collection time slot so that their order is ready for collection upon arrival at a shop.

The company also recently launched its new website and the Greggs App, where customers can earn stamps and rewards through a loyalty system across all menu categories, on both walk-in and Click + Collect purchases.

Greggs has more than 2,200 shops nationwide, with approximately 25,000 employees across the business. Any further jobs created at the Newark shop will be posted on the Greggs website.
