Newark Athletic Club enjoy success at the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Cross Country County Championships

It was another successful outing for a well-represented Newark Athletic Club at the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Cross Country County Championships.

First up was Nottinghamshire, held at Berry Hill Park in Mansfield, and Newark brought home team silverware as the Men’s Masters category winners.

Jan Bailey (seventh), Lewis Hopkinson (26th), Dave Robinson (27th) and Dan Wheat (28th) completed the Newark team.

Bailey, first in the veteran category, and Ed Buck, second in the under-23s heat, earned individual awards.

The Lincolnshire Championships took place at the infamous course at Biscathorpe.

Not to be outdone by their Nottinghamshire counterparts, the Newark senior men’s team were overall winners, with the Masters team finishing third.

Connor Pacey earned a podium spot as he finished third.
