Nottinghamshire Police to expand Operation Reacher to Newark and Sherwood after its success in Bestwood




A drugs operation model will be rolled-out to Newark and Sherwood as new police teams are expected to be in place later this year.

Plans to roll-out the successful Operation Reacher model to tackle drug dealing and weapon-enabled violence across the county are pressing ahead, confirmed Nottinghamshire Police.

The operation, which started life in the Bestwood area in April 2018, has seen proactive policing tactics and community engagement generate the intelligence needed to drive-out serious organised crime groups from the area.
