A technician apprentice at Pratt & Gelsthorpe in Newark was one of the winners at the first-ever Stars of Stellantis UK national recognition programme




An apprentice at a car dealership has been named one of the winners at the first-ever Stars of Stellantis UK national recognition programme.

Out of 1,400 entrants, Jack Clarke, a technician apprentice at Pratt & Gelsthorpe in Newark was one of the winners representing Authorised Repairers.

The 22-year-old from Collingham has been with the company for just over three years and he was said to be in shock when he first won the award.

Jack was the overall winner in his category — technician apprentice.

The first all-brand reward and recognition programme celebrates exceptional skills and positive impact made on customer experience across the Stellantis automotive brands.

The brands include — Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, FIAT, Jeep®, Peugeot, and Vauxhall retailers.

Richard Gelsthorpe, the owner of Pratt & Gelsthorpe said: “We wanted to enter Jack because we recognised that he is a very knowledgeable and talented young technician who would enjoy and benefit from the process and stand a chance of doing very well in the competition.

“Obviously him winning overall was great news but not a total surprise.

“It will stand him in good stead in the future and is also important for the business because it demonstrates our desire to maintain and add to the strength of our team of technicians for the future.”

Service advisors, warranty administrators, technician apprentices, EV technicians, master technicians, and service managers from across the UK were invited to enter the prestigious programme.

After a series of elimination stages, just twenty candidates in six categories will compete to become one of the first Stars of Stellantis.

Andy Kite, Stellantis UK Aftersales operations director, said: “The standard of all entrants was extremely impressive.

“Day in day out, these people provide the very best levels of service to our customers.

“The final was very close and I’m very proud of our winners but also every entrant, they are a credit to us all.”
