Newark company Envelopes Ltd get climate-conscious with eco-friendly packaging

Eco-friendly packaging is the latest way in which a Newark company is helping to limit its impact on the environment.

Envelopes Ltd, which has a site on Bowbridge Road, is going green, and urging customers to do the same.

Companies are increasingly coming under scrutiny over their packaging.

Environmental awareness and the impact of the Blue Planet series has led to a shift away from plastic and a move towards sustainable and recycled products.

Roseline Ghiot from Envelopes said: “As individuals and as businesses we all need to look to our working environments and our products to ensure we are reducing our carbon footprint.

“We have all ordered products only to be dismayed at the excess of packaging and lack of clarity regarding what can be recycled.”

She said research had showed customers were often prepared to pay a premium to buy greener products and reduce waste.

“Being eco-friendly is not only ethical, but also makes economic sense.

“Customers increasingly favour companies who have green credentials.

“We have already seen a huge rise in demand for plastic-free products and the message that is being sent from customers is clear."

Roseline said the company was committed to reducing its impact on the planet.

“Our new Flutelopes, Boardlopes and Combelopes will be the first of many products that replace plastic content products with recyclable plastic-free alternatives.”

The company’s plastic-free packaging solutions include recycled envelopes, bamboo envelopes, eucalyptus envelopes, board-back envelopes, book mailers and bags.

They are plastic free, helping to promote sustainable forests and reduce the environmental impact of harmful products.

Roseline said: “We understand it is massively important to look after our planet — after all, we only have one.

“By choosing recycled products and using less plastic, we are endeavouring to reduce landfill waste, and conserve our natural resources.”
