Newark Dementia Carers Group celebrates birthday at golf club

The Newark Dementia Carers Group celebrated its eighth anniversary with a lunch at Newark Golf Club.

Around 40 members attended the event, where the guest speaker was county and district councillor Keith Girling.

He described the group as a wonderful family who during the eight years has helped local people with dementia and their carers to meet and enjoy many activities that otherwise would not have been available.

The group meet twice weekly at Balderton Community Centre from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

The group thanked the catering staff at Newark Golf Club for providing a splendid meal and also all the Newark businesses who donated raffle prizes for the event.
