Newark fire crews help rescue horse trapped in ditch for several hours
Fire crews from Newark helped rescue a horse trapped in a ditch for several hours.
Horse Clyde was stuck in a ditch in 2ft of water and had been trapped for more than four hours before firefighters were called.
Newark crews were assisted by Retford Fire Station and the animal rescue crew from Warsop.
They were kindly assisted by a local farmer whose telehandler was used to lift Clyde from the ditch.
The rescue took around 50 minutes.
Clyde was unhurt and checked over by the vet once rescued. Clyde's owner Emma was very thankful and relieved once he was safe.
