Newark mum flooded with issues with new Bellway home on Marleston Lane in Middlebeck
A mum-of-two has complained about the useless service she has received since moving into her house on Middlebeck.
Santa Labasauskiene moved into her Bellway home on Marleston Lane with her family in December 2020.
However, her dreams of living happily ever after soon turned into a nightmare when issues began to arise.
Among other issues, Santa said that her garden is constantly flooded and that the street lamps on the pavement don’t work.
She claims to have made several attempts to contact Bellway to sort the issues out but hasn’t had any success so far.
“I spoke to the builders and Nottinghamshire County Council and no one wants to take responsibility,” she said.
“They promised to do something but nothing has happened. I think it’s a big issue for us.
“It’s terrible because in the beginning, we thought that we would sort it out but we’ve been living here for one year and our builder has just disappeared.”
Santa said her seven-year-old son constantly asks why he can’t go out outside and play football in the garden.
“When it rains it’s just terrible,” Santa said. “We want to do something with the garden but we can’t do anything with it.
“It’s a huge garden but we can’t use it. It’s nonsense, absolute nonsense.”
Santa said that she chose to live on Middlebeck because she thought that her £300,000 home would be of a good quality.
However, she has now had to pay a private inspector to take a look at the issues with the property.
“We liked Middlebeck a lot because we thought it would be new house of a high standard,” she said.
“We wanted to be happy about the house but customer service has been absolutely useless. We are really upset here.”
Santa has also complained to the National House Building Council who are trying to help resolve the issues.
Bellway Homes said: “All new Bellway homes come with the benefit of a ten-year NHBC Buildmark warranty, of which, the first two years are covered by Bellway for any defects within the home.
“Our customer care department will be contacting the customer to discuss their concerns and we have instructed landscapers to address the drainage problems in their garden, which has been caused by the high volume of rainfall during recent storms.”
