Bishop Alexander LEAD Academy in Newark responds after concerns over lack of one-way drop-off and pick-up system

A Newark school has responded after concerns were raised a one-way drop-off and pick-up system was not in place.

The Advertiser was made aware some parents and children at Bishop Alexander LEAD Academy were not social distancing on the pavements outside or allowing others to pass.

Nicky Spencelayh, head at the school, said: "In line with guidance from the Department for Education, we continue to implement a range of practises to safeguard our staff, pupils and parents from covid-19.

"We have established staggered school start and finish times, provided designated areas for welcoming individual classes, displayed prominent social distancing signage and external communications, and have staff patrolling entrance points during key times to encourage full compliance with our guidelines.

"We continue to communicate regularly and clearly with our parents to ensure our safeguarding measures are upheld by all during this unprecedented time."
