Six Newark area secondary schools will be receiving hundreds of thousands of Government funding.
Newark MP Robert Jenrick has announced that six schools across the district will be receiving more than £5,000 per pupil for the next school year.
The news comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that an extra £14 billion in funds will be available for schools.
The new funding for 2020-21 will see Newark Academy receive £5,261 per pupil, with Magnus Church of England Academy receiving £5,928 per pupil and there will be £5,549 for the Suthers School, which will be opening a new site in Fernwood in summer 2020.
Minster School will be receiving £4,712 per pupil, Tuxford Academy receiving £5,000 and Toothill Academy £5,076 per pupil.
The amount per school varies as it depends on the historic deprivation and performance of the schools and other funding sources.
