Newark and Sherwood District Council support Totally Newark's wonderland campaign

Totally Locally Newark is encouraging independent retailers to get in the festive spirit as part of their wonderland campaign

The best designed shop window, as voted for by the public, will receive the Newark Wonderland trophy.

Independent retailers will be asked to submit photos of their shop windows in time for a public vote starting December 1.

One voter will be chosen at random to win a £200 Totally Locally Newark voucher that can be spent at participating shops in Newark.

The campaign is encouraging people to join in with the campaign on social media by using #NewarkWonderland.

Julie Reader-Sullivan of Newark and Sherwood District Council, added: “Newark is the ideal destination for Christmas shopping – you can beat the crowds and stress of the big cities, there are plenty of independent retailers to find something unique, and parking makes access easy.

“The creation of these festive windows just adds another reason to come and enjoy any of the free events that are taking place and enjoy the town’s cosy and Christmassy atmosphere.”
