Morrisons, Kings Road, Newark, asks for help to raise money in Big Virtual Collection
A supermarket has asked for help in raising money for a cancer charity that supports children, young people and their families.
Jade Chapman, community champion for Morrisons Newark, said due to coronavirus, the shop had been without its in-store CLIC Sargent fundraising tins.
She said the charity needed support now more than ever, and that is why it had launched its Big Virtual Collection, an online appeal that runs until Saturday, August 2.
“Cancer isn’t stopping for coronavirus,” said Jade.
“Parents are still being told the devastating news that their child has cancer, children are still going through brutal treatment and families are still struggling to make ends meet because of the added financial costs of cancer; now add to this the extra anxiety coronavirus brings.”
