A rail line in and out of Newark will be out of action at specific times on Sunday due to strikes.

As a result of industrial action being taken by members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) there will be changes to EMR Sunday services until further notice.

The EMR service from Newark Northgate Station to Lincoln and Lincoln back into Newark Northgate will be out of action at the following times:

  • 1140 Newark North Gate to Lincoln
  • 1945 Newark North Gate to Lincoln
  • 1106 Lincoln to Newark North Gate
  • 1915 Lincoln to Newark North Gate

A rail replacement bus service will run in place of the cancelled train.

Timings will be slightly different to that of the train.

A spokesman said: "Industrial action by members of the RMT union is currently suspended while discussions between EMR and RMT continue.

"These further talks are detailed, intensive and aim to end the industrial action which has affected services since May.

"However, the suspension is temporary and RMT can reinstate strike action without balloting their members.

"As such it is not possible to reinstate our full Sunday timetable while this uncertainty remains.

"We are hopeful of a resolution soon and are pleased that we have been able to reach a position where EMR and RMT can come together to work on resolving the disputes."
