Reader's letter: No charge

Now we know. We are all going electric. By 2030 we all have to have electric cars.

There are practical issues because at present there are 30,000 charge points in the UK and we need millions of them.

And where exactly is this electricity going to come from?

We have wind farms and power stations that only just keep up with demand.

So how will we cope when people have to charge their laptops, phones, etc, overnight as well as their cars?

The answer is, we simply won’t. — D. HINCHLEY, Acacia Road, Balderton.
