Your article regarding hygiene at a local pub (Cleanliness Of Pub Toilet Questioned, Advertiser, August 27) put me in mind of an experience our two sons had in similar circumstances.
Having gone into the busy town centre eatery, they ordered a curry meal.
When it arrived it was soon evident the rice was very off indeed, so they complained and asked for the manager to be informed.
As they waited for a hastily prepared replacement meal to be served the manager went to their table. He offered profuse whispered apologies saying: “Thank you so much for telling is about that rice chaps, helped me a lot because I was going to have some of that for my supper.”
He then walked away without apparent concern or any assurance that this was not going to happen again. Lovely. — COLIN MEASURES, Swinderby.
