Newark officers attend lorry on A17 near Newark after it suffered rapid tyre deflation because of another vehicle

Rota four officers attended a lorry on the A17 near Newark this morning after it suffered rapid tyre deflation.

Officers found this was due to a ratchet strap being lost from another vehicle.

The strap had not been correctly secured, causing danger to other road users and considerable disruption on the A17 while the tyre was replaced.

Officers said with the prompt attendance of Lodge Tyres from the Newark depot the road was fully re-opened in just over an hour.
