Nottinghamshire Police officers need your help following death of driver near Netherfield Lane
Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for the public’s help after a driver died in a collision.
Officers were called just after 11.40am today to a report of a collision where a large rock or piece of concrete went through the windscreen of a car. The driver of the car died at the scene.
Nottinghamshire Police has closed Netherfield Lane from the Blythe Road roundabout and the Ollerton Road roundabout following the incident.
Louise Melbourne, from Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A driver has lost their life as a result of this incident and we will do everything we can to get to the bottom of how that happened.
“We are appealing for anyone that may have seen a large beige coloured cabbed truck that may be discarding its load in the area around the time of the collision. We are also appealing for any dashcam footage which may show this vehicle.”
It is thought that the road will be closed for some time and officers are currently at the scene to direct traffic.
Anyone who has information which could help the investigation should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 275 of 7 July 2020.
