Tickets now on sale for the Advertiser Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse
After a tough few months at Southwell Racecourse thanks to flooding, all eyes will be on this year’s Advertiser Ladies Day to brighten up the calendar.
Tickets are now on sale for the event, which takes place on Sunday, August 18.
It attracts thousands of people every year to enjoy the mix of glamour, race excitement and entertainment.
Providing the post-race music this year will be radio star Vernon Kay, whose mix of party tunes will have race-goers dancing the night away.
After months of reduced attendances following flooding, the racecourse is looking forward to bringing back the crowds for a fun-filled, action-packed day of entertainment.
“After what has been a tricky period for us all here, after the October flood, we are really looking forward to the return of our tremendously successful Advertiser Ladies Day in August,” said the racecourse’s executive director Mark Clayton.
“We look forward to showing everyone, our hard work, refurbishing the interior of the ground floor of our whole site.
“There are changes planned for this year’s Advertiser Ladies Day, but nothing too big to upset our successful recipe.
“On the music front, after Martin Kemp in 2022 and Scott Mills in 2023, we are glad to announce, via the Liz Hobbs Group, Vernon Kay will be DJing after racing this year.”
The Advertiser is once again teaming up with the racecourse for what is one of the highlights of the district’s social calendar.
Editor Sharon Hodkin said: “We are delighted to once again be involved in this tremendous event that attracts thousands of people every year.
“It is always a fantastic day at the racecourse – certainly one of the highlights of the year for me – and we look forward to seeing everyone looking good and having a great time.”
As always, there will be a £500 cash award to the most stylishly dressed racegoer, a competition which is always hotly contested.
This year’s charity partner is Reach Learning Disability, which supports people with learning difficulties across the district. They will be fundraising at the course on the day.
