Santander on Newark Market Place closes for refurbishment
A bank’s doors are to be closed for nearly four weeks as the town centre branch is ‘getting a new look’.
Santander on 44 Market Place, Newark, is to reopen on November 19 after having closed last Wednesday (October 29).
During the refurbishment, if people need to access the bank’s services, they can either visit the nearest branch on 33 Bridge Place, Worksop or the closest Post Office on 1 Paxtons Court, Newark.
Earlier this summer, the bank submitted applications to update its existing signs and window graphics, to the front and side of the Grade II listed building, with non-illuminated replacements featuring Santander’s new text branding.
It has also sought permission to repaint the door and window frames, and clean and re-grout the exterior tiles.
Internally, the bank proposed to install new flooring, create a new customer self-service area, and fit new customer seating and privacy screens.
This would see the removal of two quiet rooms on the first floor, replaced with two ‘corporate space’ rooms.
