Costa Coffee to open new Newark store at Maltings retail park, Northgate, in March

The opening date of a new coffee shop in Newark has been confirmed.

Costa Coffee will opens its doors to thirsty customers at the Maltings retail park on Northgate on March 3.

It will be in a separate building to the much-anticipated Marks & Spencer food store and will share a unit with Greggs.

There are eight jobs available at the new Costa branch, with two positions also vacant at the existing shop on Stodman Street.

Sam Ballard, manager of Costa Newark, will be heading up the opening and is urging local people to apply.

"It's not just coffee and cake, there's a career there," Sam said.

"There's so many opportunities for personal development. It is actually a career, it's not just a job."

Marks & Spencer has also advertised for customer assistant roles for their new store, which doesn't yet have an opening date.

The new development follows the closure of the previous Marks & Spencer retail store on Stodman Street in 2019.
