Newark Advertiser General Election hustings to quiz and question Newark Parliamentary candidates
The Advertiser is organising a General Election hustings involving all the candidates for the Newark Parliamentary seat.
The hustings, at the Magnus Church of England Academy, Earp Avenue, offers each candidate the opportunity to answer questions on the topics that matter to you — our readers.
It takes place on Monday, starting at 7pm, and members of the public can attend for free.
Advertiser editor Sharon Hodkin said: “This is the public’s only chance to have the candidates all together facing questions.
“We are looking forward to hearing the candidates’ views on all the major issues that matter to our readers.”
Questions can be submitted to the Advertiser before lunchtime on Monday.
They can be pitched to all candidates, or be tailored to one on the basis of a specific issue or manifesto pledge.
A selection of questions will then be put to the candidates on the night during an informed debate adjudicated by the Advertiser that begins at 7pm.
Those posing the questions can either do so in person from the audience or have them read out by the adjudicator.
It will be a Question Time-style format with the candidates on stage in the school hall.
To send in a question, email news@newark advertiser.co.uk
Doors open to the public from 6.45pm.
