Newark Advertiser reader's letter: Ordering food
WHY are some diners insisting you can only eat outside if you order on an app?
Equally, why are staff doing table service inside when the virus is more likely to spread in an indoor environment? Staff are safer outside.
On visiting The Old Post Office for food last weekend, I wanted to sit outside in the glorious weather. I headed outside to find the app, which you order food through, did not work on mine or my partner’s phone. So, instead, I went to order at the bar.
However, a staff member told me this wasn’t ‘possible’ and I would have to find a seat inside.
Not possible? They’re having a laugh. Utterly stupid and an excellent way to put people off, especially elderly.
If people have to use an app, make sure it works first. — J. JONES, Newark.
