Outlaw sets up camp
A colourful medieval camp will be set up in Rufford Country Park this weekend as part of Robin Hood Month.
The free event will include combat re-enactments, cooking demonstrations, games, bow-making, and music.
Visitors will be able to buy from a market, try on armour and have a go at shooting with a longbow.
There will also be a large catapult, which will be fired, and fighting by soldiers dressed from that period.
County councillor Mr John Cottee said Robin Hood Month was already proving to be a great success.
He said: “This event will be one of the biggest and best yet and is sure to attract people who by then will have seen the film and cannot wait to pretend to be Robin Hood for the day.”
The event will take place between 11am and 4.30pm today and tomorrow.
Admission is free but there is a £3 charge for carparking.
