Overwhelming support forces Newark and Southwell fire stations to stop taking donations for Ukraine

Two fire stations have been forced to stop taking donations for people who have fled Ukraine due to overwhelming community support.

Newark Fire Station and Southwell Fire Station began collecting items from members of the public at the beginning of this week.

However, both stations have now ran out of room to store the donations.

"However, our stores at the station are now full.

"Could we please ask that no more donations are brought to Newark Fire Station until further notice, as we need to transport your current donations to a central collection hub.

"Please keep checking back to this page for details of when we are open again for further donations."
