More news, no ads

With Halloween just around the corner, a farm shop is preparing for its annual pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

Thousands of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes have been home-grown on Maxey’s Farm Shop family land around Southwell, ready for its P...P...Pick Up A Pumpkin event which has been running since 2012.

Multiple varieties, including pale white to green pumpkins, are available to pick at the farm shop to be carved for the spooky holiday or cooked into tasty treats.

Alongside the pumpkins, there will also be a spooky woodland walk, tractor ride and BBQ for all the family to enjoy.

Stalls will have Halloween gifts and treats for sale.

Katharine Maxey, owner of Maxey’s Farm Shop, said: “It’s a traditional day out in the country.

“We want kids knowing where food is grown, but of course, they are not interested in broccoli.”

P...P...Pick Up A Pumpkin will be open from October 9 to October 31 at Maxey’s Farm Shop, Kirklington.
