Beaumond House’s Be Bright Blue campaign week of action encouraging businesses around Newark to get involved
A hospice is calling upon the help of shops, businesses and organisations to support a campaign raising awareness about loneliness after a diagnosis.
Beaumond House’s Be Bright Blue campaign week of action from this Saturday (January 13) and runs until next Sunday (January 21).
People can get involved by decorating their window blue, using blue bunting, lights or even by using their own merchandise.
The hospice, based on London Road in Newark, is also able to provide posters for display and social media graphics with information about the campaign.
Be Bright Blue is a three-month campaign running until the end of January and will raise awareness of the work that Beaumond House does to combat the loneliness of receiving a diagnosis.
Retailers and businesses can also show their support collecting donations in exchange for “Pocket Hugs”, small, crocheted hearts on a branded card.
January 15 is commonly referred to as ‘Blue Monday’ as it is often regarded as the most depressing day of the year.
The day is associated with feelings of sadness, low motivation, and a lack of energy — Beaumond House hopes to turn the town bright blue to raise awareness and show support.
A number of business around the town have already pledged their support for the campaign, including; Flossie & Boo, Jane Young, Y&S Men’s Wear, Shirt Sleeves, Vintage Vixen, New Mode Boutique, Number One Antiques, Village Chique, Gilles & Bella, Oxygen, Masdings, Newark Art, Hobson& Co, Honeytrap, The Curtain Mill, Déjà Vu Dress agency, Vinyl Attraction, The Scented Home, K&H, Curtain Mill, Whistlers Chemist, Estillo Ladieswear, Y&S Ladieswear and Petit Versailles.
