Parents step up for shoe challenge

Children from Maun Infants’ and Nursery School, Ollerton, were joined by their parents to help them with a challenge to design and make a pair of shoes.

The challenge was set after the children watched a production by Nottingham Playhouse Education Theatre Department called Whose Shoes?

The children were asked to design their own pair of shoes and then make them.

Some used cardboard to create them from scratch while others brought in an old pair and decorated them.

The project involved about 70 children aged five to seven.
