More news, no ads

David Lloyd, leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, recently said that he was “genuinely sorry” for the £500,000 cost of the council’s U-turn over the proposed extension of the carpark next to Newark Library (Leader Sorry For Carpark Saga, Advertiser, July 28).

Perhaps he and his secretive colleagues could demonstrate their regret by putting their hands in their own pockets to refund the taxpayers of this sum. — M. DEXTER, Newark.
