Nottinghamshire Police appeal for information after pedestrian, 81, dies following collision at junction of London Road and Hawton Lane, Balderton




An 81-year-old woman has sadly died following a collision in Balderton on Monday (December 30).

The pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car at the junction of London Road and Hawton Lane around 4.50pm.

She was taken to hospital, but despite the efforts of medical staff died a short time later.

Nottinghamshire Police said that the woman’s family is being supported by officers.

The driver stopped at the scene and was spoken to by police. No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Emma Temple, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the woman’s family at an incredibly difficult time.“

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage which could assist officers with their inquiries, should call police on 101, quoting incident number 485 of December 30.
