Pre-loved prom dress shop Miss Mouse Dress House opens in Newark

A new business is aiming to offer premium prom dresses for a more affordable price, with a personalised shopping experience.

Miss Mouse Dress House has been set up by Sarah Henderson, after she was made redundant from a 12 year career in sales, and will stock a variety of unworn and pre-loved prom and black tie dresses for a lower price point.

It aims to make the top brands more affordable to more people, allowing them to feel their best at events.

Sarah said: “I wanted to help some parents be able to afford some of the more expensive dresses.

“It’s all about recycling and sustainability too, with pre-loved and unworn dresses, all in excellent condition — most of them have only been worn for a few hours.”

Miss Mouse Dress House is based on Jessop Close, Brunel Drive, and will be strictly appointment only to provide personal one-to-one shopping experiences.

The wide range of dresses in sizes four to 16, in a variety of styles, will all be showcased on the business’ website for potential buyers to see, before booking an appointment to try on the items they like.

“As well as prom, I’m also catering for young farmers, black tie events, cruises, and pageants,” Sarah added.

“Every dress is a one-off, what you see is what you get. If you see something you like you can book to see it, and then love it or leave it.

“We make it a very personal one-to-one experience.”
