Creatures great and small at animal blessing service

Two donkeys were among animals brought along to the annual pet blessing service in Southwell Minster on Sunday.

The regular event, which is open to all two and four legged creatures, has become a regular feature in the church's calendar. It is held to reflect the importance of creation. and always proves popular.

Cats, dogs and birds were brought along to the service which was taken by Canon Nigel Coates and Father Matthew Askey.
