An application has been put forward that could see a quarry moved.
The plans for Cromwell Quarry seek to relocate it north so the current plot can be restored to nature.
It is hoped that will benefit wildlife and enhance biodiversity, with the plans including additional nesting banks for birds, ponds and steep slopes for aquatic plant habitats.
The current quarry is on a designated wildlife site, with an independent ecology report concluding the works could cause loss to existing habitats. The new 11.68 acre site also lies within flood zone three with a high probability of flooding.
