Halam stabbing: Peter Brooks appears at Nottingham Crown Court charged with attempted murder of Nottinghamshire surgeon




A plastic surgeon, charged with the attempted murder of a highly-regarded fellow surgeon, was in court today.

Jonathan Peter Brooks, 56, of Landseer Road, Southwell, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court.

He has been remanded over an incident in which 65-year-old Graeme Perks suffered stab wounds at his home in Halam Hill, Halam, at 4.15am on Thursday, January 14.

Brooks has been charged with attempted murder, three counts of attempted arson with intent to endanger life, and possession of a knife in a public place following an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police.

No plea was made by Brooks, who only spoke to confirm his name.

A psychiatric report is to be completed before a trial starts.

Another hearing is scheduled for May 28.

A trial date has been set for Monday, September 27.
