Nottinghamshire Police open an investigation after a body was found at Cromwell Quarry in Cromwell

Police officers are investigating after a body was found at a quarry.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Cromwell Quarry in Cromwell on Saturday (May 11) around 5.30pm after a body was found.

Early indications suggest that the death is non-suspicious, however, a full investigation is currently underway to determine what has happened.

Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Officers will be based at the quarry for some time while a thorough investigation takes place.
