Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman in Bingham yesterday
Nottinghamshire Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of a 57-year-old man and 39-year-old woman following an incident in Porchester Road, Bingham, yesterday afternoon.
Detectives were called to the address just before 3.40pm where a man and woman, who are believed to be known to one another, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident is ongoing.
"Post-mortem examinations are taking place later today to establish the exact cause of death however following our initial investigations we now believe this is an isolated incident and at this time we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
"Our investigation will continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths. Our thoughts at this time are very much with the loved ones of those who have died and we are liaising with family to offer them support.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place. A cordon remains in place at the address while we continue with our enquiries and we will continue to have a police presence in the local area.
“We are aware that Bingham is a small community and this incident will have an impact on its residents. We would advise anyone who wishes to raise any issues to please speak to one of our officers in the area."
