Police plane called into action to follow ‘suspect vehicle’ from A1 in Nottinghamshire through Lincolnshire along the A17

A police aircraft was called into action to help follow a ‘suspect vehicle’ last night (Monday January 27).

The National Police Air Service despatched one of its fleet of planes for a pursuit that began on the A1 in Nottinghamshire just before 9pm and went through Lincolnshire — with the craft heard above homes in the Spalding area just before 9.45pm.

A spokesman for NPAS said: “At 2052 on Monday January 27 2025, an NPAS police aeroplane was deployed to the A1 Tuxford area to support Nottinghamshire Police in following a suspect vehicle.

“The vehicle was tracked to the A17 in Lincolnshire until it was eventually stopped by ground units. Total flying time on the task was 43 minutes.”

We have approached the police for further information about the incident.
