A 33-year-old balaclava-clad off-road biker has had his bike seized after being caught riding on a footpath by police.

Nottingham Police’s Roads Policing Unit was on patrol in Newark yesterday (June 8) when they spotted a quad bike and and off road bike being ridden by people in balaclavas.

His bike was also seized by police.

“We were therefore really pleased as a Roads Policing Unit to be able to seize one of these bikes, after spotting it during one of our recent patrols.

“Our officers noticed the bike being ridden down a footpath, off Bowbridge Road, around 1.25pm yesterday (June 8).

“After giving chase, firstly in the car and then on foot, our team were able to catch up with the rider and detain him nearby.

“The 33-year-old man was issued with a traffic offence report for the offences of driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance or a licence, and for not wearing a helmet.”
