Police uncover £90,000 cannabis grow at address on Whitewater Road, Ollerton, and arrest man at scene
Police uncovered a large cannabis grow worth up to £90,000 and arrested a 32-year-old man at the scene.
A search warrant took place on Whitewater Road, Ollerton, today (Thursday) at 11am, as a result of intelligence received and as part of a wider operation to combat drug supply in the area.
A total of 87 cannabis plants were recovered believed to be worth £1,000 each. A man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.
Neighbourhood Inspector Heather Sutton said: "We are always working to combat illegal drug supply in the Newark and Sherwood area. We work with various teams such as intelligence and the dog section and operate a number of covert and overt operations.
"We act on information received from our local residents and put measures in place to investigate suspected criminals. Drug-dealers prey on the most vulnerable in our society and we have a zero tolerance approach to this form of activity."
