Newark Advertiser reader letters: Political point scoring

I am dismayed that local MP Robert Jenrick who, along with the government he was part of for ten years, ignored the findings of the inquiry chaired by Prof Alexis Jay which lasted seven years, and then instead of calling for the findings to be implemented for the benefit of victims and to reduce future harms, Mr Jenrick just calls for another expensive and long winded inquiry.

He is only doing this for the chance to have his ridiculous generalisation rolled out on every media including Newark Advertiser, and so that he can point score when his irrelevant request is duly ignored, even when the new government is working to implement the recommendations of the last comprehensive and competent inquiry, something he never did. — Lisa Geary, Newark.
