Poll: Do you support plans to dual the A46 Newark Bypass?

A debate surrounding plans to widen the A46 at Newark has been sparked this week after a council objected to the plans.

On Wednesday Newark Town Council’s planning committee objected to plans which would see the Newark Bypass dualled and a flyover constructed at the Cattlemarket Roundabout under a £500m project.

The aim of the project is to reduce congestion on the notoriously congested road and relieve pressure put on the town as a result. It has also been argued that easier travel in the area will bring economic benefits to Newark.

These objections were strongly criticised by those in support of the plans for “not representing the views of the people of Newark” and have since been withdrawn.

The council will reconsider its position on the topic at a meeting of full council on July 24, before submitting a new statement to government.

Ahead of this meeting, we would like to know what Newark residents do think and in turn help the council to make an informed decision about what is wanted.

Very simply, do you support plans to dual the A46 Newark Bypass?
