Development work at Worthington Simpson pond in Middlebeck to start late April
Work at a pond in Middlebeck, including a new footpath, are due to start by the end of the month.
The land at Worthington Simpson pond has been bought by Urban and Civic as part of a Middlebeck development.
The development of the pond where Worthington Simpson Angling club is located is due to start on April 23.
It will include vegetation clearance, a new footpath and general landscaping.
The pond will still be accessible from the east side during the works.
There will be a tree and bulb planting on April 24 following another planning submission.
The aim of the project is to make the area more accessible to the public and disabled people as well as new fishing pegs and other maintenance works needed.
Fishing club memberships will still be needed to anyone who wishes to fish at the pond, but the open greenspaces are open to public use.
