Newark Advertiser reader letter: Poor service

Three lorries turned up on our close and started to remove a pole with our seven telephone lines.

They removed the telephone line, put a new pole up and then reattached the telephone lines, telling residents to let them know if they had any problems.

I couldn’t get a line — it was dead — and neither could some of my other neighbours.

It took 3½ days to put it right. We had to go through several providers several times to get it fixed, to get someone to come out and go up the pole to put it right. It was a job that took five minutes. — M. Marvin, Newark.
